Guest speakers Iftikhar Dadi, Associate Professor and Chair of the Art History Department of Cornell University; independent scholar Layla Diba; and Sheikh Sultan Sooud Al-Qassemi, columnist and Chairman of the Barjeel Art Foundation respond to a series of questions relating to the collection of the future museum: How do we define the avant-garde in the Middle East and who are its artists? How are their histories shared? What role does the UAE play within these histories?
